G-Ctrl is a system where each individual power outlet is connected to the internet and can be controlled via a smartphone, an RFID tag or a computer. The system administrator is afforded a clear overview of all engine heaters and can both control and monitor the energy consumption of each individual outlet. Users can log in to “My Pages” over the internet to control their outlet. G-Ctrl offers the option of a calendar of regular weekly or one-off departure times. Moreover, the outlet can be activated directly by smartphone if necessary. If the number of system users is greater than the number of parking spaces, the “Freely selected parking space” function can be used, which means that all users activate their engine heater with an RFID tag. This results in the registered departure times and energy consumption being associated with the concerned RFID tag rather than a particular parking space.
